Orchid enters into long term R&D tie-up with Pfizer

 The
Chennai-based pharma major, Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals announced
the signing of a long-term master R&D agreement with Pfizer International.
Under this agreement, Orchid will provide research and development services
to Pfizer's Animal Health business. The agreement is for a period of seven years
and is renewable thereafter. Pfizer and Orchid are currently evaluating products
and specific R&D services to be undertaken. The agreement also provides
for addition of new products and services from time to time.
Orchid considers the tie-up with Pfizer a significant move, in the context of
Pfizer's decision to lead the development of new products for its animal health
business from India.
