Coating training programme-Art to Science

A training programme was conducted on Oct 4 and Oct 5, 2005 by Ideal Institute of Coating Technology at Mumbai. Ideal Institute of Coating Technology promoted by Ideal Cures, makers of Instacoat Film coating system. It is a non- profit organisation set up for imparting knowledge on film coating system and to work for the development of science of tablet coating in association of pharmaceutical industry as well as academia; says Chetan Rajsharad, Principal of the Institute.

All 54 participants from various countries representing various pharmaceuticals manufactures and from academic institute participated in a thought provocating exercise.

Film coating was not been given enough importance by many pharmaceutical organisations. Every company takes great care during every step of tablet manufacturing by making significant investment for granulation and compression section and also send their skilled staff for more training.

In an endeavor to continuously improve the science of film coating, Ideal Cures devised a two-day training course to share their scientific knowledge regarding film coating material, equipment and process parameters. The training course was designed to educate the participants about critical aspects of aqueous system and how to set up even the conventional coating machines to make them suitable for aqueous coating. Institute made excellent arrangement for the comfortable stay of the participants away from the noise and pollution of the city where the participants thoroughly discussed various issued involved in tablet coating technology.
