Panacea Biotec launches UpRight for pain management

City-based Panacea Biotec has expanded its pain management drugs portfolio with the introduction of UpRight, aceclofenac-paracetamol combination.

Upright Aceclofenac 100 mg & Paracetamol 500 mg fixed dose combination is indicated for relief from severe pain and inflammation. Aceclofenac relieves pain and inflammation through a variety of mechanisms and paracetamol is an effective analgesic-antipyretic agent.

‘‘Our quest for providing a holistic solution for severe painful and inflammatory conditions has lead to the launch of UpRight, a synergistic combination of aceclofenac and paracetamol. UpRight is superior to other NSAIDs due to its excellent anti-inflammatory effect, fast and potent analgesic activity,’’ said Rajesh Jain, joint managing director, Panacea Biotec in a release issued by the company.

UpRight is also effective in painful inflammatory conditions associated with fever and it provides effective relief in acute and chronic inflammatory and degenerative conditions. UpRight can be prescribed for severe pain and inflammation indications in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, low back pain, dental pain, pelvic pain and also for painful and inflammatory conditions of ear, nose and throat.

Panacea Biotec manufactures and markets branded vaccines, pharmaceutical and biotechnology-based products of international quality. The manufacturing plant for vaccines in the capital of India, New Delhi is prequalified by WHO for supply to UN Agencies. Panacea Biotec meets most of the state requirements of OPV under Pulse Polio Program in India. The plant for manufacture of pharmaceutical formulations got commissioned in 1989 in New Delhi. It is equipped with latest and most modern machinery, equipments and infrastructure to roll out products as per company’s stringent quality policy. The big thrust came in 1993, with focus on biological and biotechnology based products, in addition to pharmaceutical formulations.

With a special focus on biotechnology, Panacea Biotec has been making concerted efforts to improve the repertoire of its vaccines. A host of new vaccines employing genetic engineering and recombinant technology are being developed. The Hepatitis B vaccine- Enivac HB is being manufactured in collaboration with CIGB (Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology), Havana, Cuba — a world leader in biotechnology.
