Aarti Drugs gross sales drop 6.1 per cent

EPP News Bureau - Mumbai

Aarti Drugs results for the fourth quater FY05 were impacted by the changes in the excise duty from ex-factory price to MRP based prices for pharmaceutical formulations and due to the uncertainties in VAT implementation.

Aarti Drug’s gross sales for the quarter declined by 6.1 per cent y-o-y from Rs 760.1 million to 713.6 million. Net sales dropped by 6.2 per cent from Rs 698.8 million to Rs 655.5 million.

Despite the slowdown in purchase of API by formulators, ADL’s domestic sales grew by 14.2 per cent y-o-y from Rs 384.6 million to 439.1 million.

Export sales declined by 26.9 per cent from Rs 375.5 million to Rs 274.5 million.
