Union Govt sanctions Rs 14.45 crore for Karnataka Biotech Park
Bangalore Helix, Karnataka’s biotech park, will start functioning in June 2005. The Department of Biotechnology has already sanctioned Rs 14.45 crore for the project.

Shantha launches vaccine to combat Japanese encephalitis
Shantha Biotechnics has launched Jencevac, a vaccine for combating Japanese encephalitis in the domestic market. The company has formed a partnership with Green Cross Vaccine Corporation, Korea for distribution and marketing of Jencevac in India.

US district court finds Zyprexa patent valid
The United States district court for the southern district of Indiana has issued an opinion following the completion of a trial on Eli Lilly’s US patent relating to Zyprexa and found the patent to be valid, said a press release issued by Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (DRL).
