Annamalai holds programme on managing drug supply

The Department of Pharmacy of the Annamalai University recently organised a two day’s training programme for hospital pharmacists on managing drug supply. The programme was sponsored by the Delhi Society for Promotion of Rational Use of Drugs (DSPRUD) and WHO—India programme in essential drugs.

The programme was inaugurated Prof K G Revikumar, head, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Calicut, who was the chief guest on the occasion. In his inaugural address, he stressed upon the importance of hospital pharmacists in public health.

While addressing the gathering Prof B Palaniappan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, of the University called upon the pharmacists to fulfill their the social commitment as health professionals.

Prof E Sriram of Sri Rama Krishna College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore impressed upon the pharmacists’ role in changing health care scenario. Dr R Manavalan, professor and head, Department of Pharmacy lauded the contribution of DSPRUD in promoting the rational drug use concept in the country.

  • Storage of medicines and good storage practice
  • Demonstration of computerised inventory control
