The clinic is run in collaboration with Dr Gautam Allahbadia, an infertility specialist and its scientific director.

The Center offers hormonal testing, in vitro fertilisation (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), artificial insemination, semen cryopreservation, semen processing, ovulation induction and monitoring, embryo freezing, BET, oocyte donor program, assisted hatching, surgical sperm retrieval (PESA/MESA/TESA/TESE), evaluation of male patient, intrauterine insemination, gonadotropin cycles, recurrent pregnancy loss clinic, minimally invasive ultrasound guided procedures, uterine cavity assessment (sonocontrast and hysterography), fallopian tube sperm perfusion, GIFT, ZIFT, diagnostic and operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and all reproductive endoscopic surgery including fallopian tube recanalisation.

The Center will offer a fulltime one-year clinical fellowship in Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) and one-day IUI training courses for gynecologists. These academic programmes are under the aegis of the Aesculap Academy, a member of B Braun group, Germany. Online application forms are available on the official website www.testtubebabyclinic.com. Said Dr Kamal Cheema, medical superintendent, “Initiating fertility services at PAKH is part of our endeavor to provide better and comprehensive healthcare services to the people. This is among the most prestigious ventures that we are starting in 60th year of the hospital.”

The process begins with a phone call (2372 2500), fax (2372 3600) or email: wecare@testtubebabyclinic.com to the Center. The management promises that all patient/public queries on the internet will be responded to within 72 hours on an entirely complimentary basis.

While counseling facilities are part of the service, the hospital is also establishing a patient support group, which offers regular talks and information and meetings with other couples undergoing treatment. Couples can also watch patient education films in the multimedia ready counseling room.

The Centre houses a serene semen collection room equipped with audio-visual aids. The andrology laboratory is also conveniently located within the IVF suite. A dedicated intrauterine insemination suite is equipped with two designer IUI tables from Midmark, US. Adjacent pass-through from the operating room to the IVF tab ensures that eggs that are under retrieval or embryos that are being transferred are not exposed to detrimental fluctuations in environment.

The embryos are kept in Heraeus incubators, monitored around the clock to ensure favourable culture conditions. If necessary, microsurgical procedures are performed at the micromanipulation workstation. A post-op recovery suite provides patients opportunity to rest after day-care procedures. All confirmatory tests for pregnancy are also performed in-house with same-day reporting.
