Dr Haseltine on Matrix Scientific Advisory Board

Matrix Laboratories Limited has appointed Dr William A Haseltine, an eminent scientist, as the chairman of Matrix Scientific Advisory Board (MSAB).

Dr William A Haseltine, the founder of Human Genome Sciences Inc., the pioneer genomics biotechnology company, was the chairman and chief executive officer of Human Genome Sciences from 1993 to 2004. He is a Professor at The Scripps Research Institute. Dr Haseltine has a distinguished record of academic achievement in both cancer and AIDS research, for which he has received numerous awards and honours. He is the author of more than 250 published scientific manuscripts.

Dr Haseltine holds a doctorate from Harvard University in Biophysics and was a professor at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health from 1976 to 1993. In addition to his scientific work, Dr Haseltine has been active in business for more than 20 years. He is the founder of seven biotechnology companies and, as an advisor to HealthCare Ventures, helped to create another 20 companies.
