AIDCOC and Millipore to hold workshop on aseptic processing

The All India Drug Controller Officers’ Confederation (AIDCOC) and Millipore has organised a two-day workshop ‘The Web of Aseptic Processing-II’ during February 14-15, 2005.

The workshop will have experts from the world of regulatory compliance like the Indian FDA and the biopharmaceutical industry to discuss and debate the emerging trends and challenges facing the industry. This is a sequel to the successful workshop organised in 2002.

The focus would be on the pharmacopoeia perspective on aseptic processing, new guidelines on sterile drugs by aseptic processing - September 2004, the pivotal role of risk assessment and risk management in a microbiological environment, rapid microbiological monitoring with innovative and interactive formats like The Big Debate, The Ramp Up, a virtual demo on Rapid Microbiology etc.

The speakers include eminent personnel from the regulatory bodies of India, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and professionals from Millipore. Other dignitaries expected to be at the program include the Heads of Aseptic Processing initiatives from Millipore, USA and Heads of pharmaceutical business.

The two day workshop in Bangalore gets together professionals from R&D, QA/QC, manufacturing, project management and the FDA. The eminent panel comprises A Ramakrishnan, Commissioner-FDA, Dr Venkateshwarulu, Dy. Drugs Controller India, Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation, West Zone, S W Deshpande. president,(AIDCOC) and Jt Commissioner-Food & Drug Administration(MS).

In addition, the industry is represented by top professionals like Rajiv Gulati, chairman & managing director, Eli Lily and Company, Dr S S Jadhav, executive director - QA, Serum Institute, S Rangarajan, Director-QA, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Dr A K Chawla, Chief of R&D and QA, Panacea Biotech, Dr S S Baukhandi, President-Regulatory Affairs, Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, K Anand, VP-QA and Regulatory Affairs, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, R S Iyer, Consultant, Pravin Manker, Consultant, Alain Rachon and Benoit Gourdier from the Technology Group, European HQ, Millipore among others.
