US based KGK Synergize ties up with Herbicure for research programme

KGK Synergize Inc (KGK), Ontario based globally renowned CRO has recently announced a new partnership programme with Kolkata’s Herbicure Private Limited in the field of contract research including pre-clinical and clinical studies.

Najla Guthrie, president & CEO of KGK and Robert A Guthrie, vice-president (Operations) of the company disclosed this during their recent visit to Kolkata. KGK has carried out successful clinical studies for Herbicure’s bio-natural products, Panekure and Asmakure in North America under FDA norms.

The senior executives of the US based company visited the city to oversee the plant and the collaborative research facilities of Herbicure Limited at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. After visiting the research facilities she said that the research facilities at Jadavpur University with whom Herbicure has full-fledged collaboration shall provide an excellent global base for medical research on natural products.

S R Dasgupta, the managing director & CEO, Herbicure Private Limited said that such new global research programme with the assistance of KGK and JU would unfold a new dimension in Eastern India. Earlier, the Kolkata based bio-solution company hosted a medical conference, which was attended by leading physicians and senior Orthopaedic surgeons of the city.

A scientific session on issues relating to pain management was organized during the course of the conference. The President and the Vice President (Operations) of KGK attended the scientific session. While there was complete unanimity among the doctor’s fraternity about the wide-scale adverse drug reactions of the prevalent pain killers and their unsuitability to being a safe choice for long term pain management, they spoke in unison about Herbicure’s Panekure as possibly the only scientific choice among the herbal products from the point of view of safety, effectiveness and reliability.

The president of KGK spoke about Panekure’s CRP-reducing feature, one of the most important findings of their clinical studies on the product, which was highly appreciated by the attending doctors. Senior orthopaedic surgeons like Dr H K Dev and Dr A P Dutta, and also eminent cardiologist, Dr Animesh Chakravorty complimented Herbicure for the scientific research and validations among the natural products, pursued by the Company in collaboration with JU and KGK.

They said that in view of the recent adverse reports on coxibs leading to very high incidence of heart and renal failures as reported in US and other developed countries, Herbicure’s pain management product, Panekure could be an ideal choice for long term therapy of arthritis. The President’s further elaboration on the successful Clinical Trial with Panekure under USFDA norms with extremely useful and rare findings were well received by the attending doctors.
