Emerson Network launches UCS for smaller server rooms

EPP News Bureau - Mumbai

Emerson Network Power (India) Pvt Ltd(ENPI), leaders in the medium-high UPS segment and precision air-conditioners launched the UCS-24X7, an uninterruptible cooling solution specially devised for server rooms in small to mid-sized IT companies. In the first phase, UCS-24X7 will be available through specialised air-conditioning dealers across cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. The second phase intends to target markets such as Pune, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Cochin and Chandigarh. This launch will allow ENPI to target the annually growing 30,000 small to mid-sized server market valued at Rs 60 crores.

The heat generated by small server rooms necessitates specialised cooling solutions to optimise 24X7 operation of critical equipment therein. While comfort cooling systems have been used over precision air conditioners to address the cooling requirements of these rooms since they are lower on costs, the consequences have often been equipment snags, shutdowns and large energy bills.

UCS 24X7 is ideally suited to ensure 24X7 cooling, is more energy efficient and has a higher product lifecycle of 10 years vis-…-vis a comfort cooling system. It also offers power saving costs upto Rs. 60,000 p.a. for an average server room load and guarantees a return on investment (ROI) in 18 months.

Thanigaivelu, Corporate Champion-Air Channel, Emerson Network Power (India) says, “What keeps smaller IT companies from investing in specialised cooling solutions is the initial capital expenditure involved. With the launch of UCS-24X7, customers will now have the benefit of optimal technology benefits at an affordable price point that also provides maximum value on investment.”

UCS-24X7 offers a high sensible ratio of upto 92 per cent and offers high energy efficiency due to the use of innovative Compliant Scroll Compressors. It is capable of filtering air upto 5 micron level with a filtration efficiency of 95 per cent protecting electronic equipment from dust bridging of components.

UCS-24X7 is ideally suited to the cooling of many important installations such as critical server rooms, telecommunication facilities, industrial process control rooms, broadcast facilities, building services control rooms, surveillance and monitoring centres and medical equipment installations.
