Alembic, Euroresearch pact

Mumbai: The pharmaceutical firm Alembic and Italian firm Euroresearch has entered into a tie-up for introducing the latter’s products in the Indian market.

According to the company, the first product that Alembic will launch here is Gelfix pads, used for faster healing of wounds like bed sores, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers etc.

It is said that Alembic is expecting a sale of Rs 3 crore from in the first full year of its launch.

Dabur net profit drops 17 pc to Rs 64 cr

New Delhi: Dabur India Ltd has posted a fall of 17.3 per cent in its net profit which has dropped from Rs 77.92 crore in the financial year 2000 to 01 to Rs 64.44 crore in the year 2001-02.

The company recorded a virtual flat sales turnover from Rs 1166.47 crore to Rs 1163.19 crore during the period under review. According to the company the fall in the sales can be attributed to the pipeline correction it carried out in the Q4 which affected the primary sales. Low demand, pressure on disposable incomes and intense competition in the sector were some other factors responsible for the company’s low growth according to a press release.

During the year 2001-02, Dabur recorded a net profit of Rs 68.63 crore on a sales turnover of Rs 1280.96 crore on a consolidated basis which included results of Dabur India and its three subsidiaries viz; Dabur Nepal Pvt Ltd, Dabur India Foods Ltd and Dabur Oncology Plc, UK. Dabur Nepal Pvt Ltd’s net profit increased by 30.45 per cent to Rs 10.47 crore.

Ipca net profit up at Rs 6.54 cr

Mumbai: Ipca Laboratories Ltd has recorded a rise in its net profit at Rs 6.54 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2002 as compared to Rs 1.53 for corresponding period last fiscal. The net sales stood at Rs 110.53 crore for the quarter as against Rs 100.85 crore in the corresponding period previous fiscal.

The company has posted a 56 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 32.02 crore for the fiscal year 2001-02 as compared to Rs 20.47 crore in the previous year. Net sales have risen from Rs 396.07 crore in 2000-01 to Rs 455.68 crore in 2001-02.
